Easter 2011

We had a lovely Easter.  The Easter Bunny visited and left Ava a few of her favorite things.  She was very excited about her new books, binkies and puffs.  We spent the morning at home and then headed to Lewiston for a late lunch.  Ava had fun finding all of the Easter eggs that were hidden around Grandma and Opa's house.  She was able to spend some time with her Great Grandma Helen (Louis).  We stopped at Grandma and Papa's house for dinner on the way back home.  The Easter Bunny was very good to our little girl this year.  He left gifts for Ava everywhere!

Heading back home
We spent the last week in Myrtle Beach.  It was a very last minute decision but I'm glad we went.  We met up with my parents and my brother and his family.  This was the first time we had all been on vacation together.  My brother and I haven't been on vacation together in over 18 years.  We all had a great time.  Ava loves the beach and was a big fan of the Lazy River at our resort.  She had her first ice cream cone (chocolate & vanilla twist) courtesy of Grandma and Papa.  We went to the aquarium with Tim, Tracy and the girls, met everyone at miniature golf (where Ava chased everyone's golf balls), had a picnic, went to Margaritaville, Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, and spent some time at the pool and on the beach.  Needless to say, we kept the little one busy!  She even slept through the night once while we were there!  We found that not only does Ava love ice cream but she is also quite fond of the taste of sand. The only way to keep the sand out of her mouth was to give her a toy for each hand.   Ava had a wonderful time.  She had a huge smile on her face the entire week.

Off and Running

We had a wonderful time celebrating the babies birthdays in Virginia.  It was so nice to see everyone.  Ava enjoyed playing with all of her little buddies but had completely exhausted herself  just in time for the birthday party.  It took awhile, but by the end of the party we were finally able to get a picture of the four kiddos all together.
On Friday, we visited our old schools and then went to Brien and Rhonda's house for dinner.  While we were there Ava decided that she was ready to start walking.  She only took a few steps that night, but by Sunday she was officially a walker!  Every time Ava plays with her friend Lucas she learns something new.  The first time Lucas came to visit us Ava starting sitting up on her own, the second time she starting crawling, and this past time she started walking.  I can't wait to see what she learns to do the next time we see Lucas and his family!
We went out yesterday and bought Ava her first sneakers.  She's pretty proud of herself!  As soon as she got those sneakers on her feet she took off!  She went all around the store and tried cruising out into the mall.  She also picked out a pair of sandals that she really wanted for our upcoming vacation.  We visited the Easter Bunny while we were at the mall and Ava tried her first milkshake.  She was one happy girl!
