Slime Time

I've been reading a blog about creative things to do with children.  It is incredible!  The blog is written by a couple of Stay at Home Moms who have kids ages 3, 2, and 15 months.  These women do amazing things with their children.  Today I decided to try out one of the activities on the blog.  I thought we should start with something easy so Ava and I made slime....or tried to anyway.  I don't think it came out exactly the way it should have.  Ava enjoyed pouring the water and cornstarch into the bowl and she even tried to stir it for about 15 seconds before deciding that the slime would be a delicious thing to eat.  She quickly realized that she could spread our concoction everywhere!  Thank goodness we did this outside. I think she had fun with it.  Ava slimed the steps, the deck floor, her water table, me and herself.  Luckily, Mason thought it was too hot to be outside today.  Otherwise, I'm sure our black dog would be covered in white goo.  I'm hoping to try one activity from the blog each week.
For some reason, I didn't think to take a picture anything that was covered in slime.  Next time!

I don't think she was too sure about this

realizing how fun it is to be messy

Stirring...

And into the mouth....this became a game.  She thought it was hilarious :)

Magnets

hard at work

Casey created a magnetic wall in the kitchen for Ava.  After 8 coats of magnetic paint, it's finally finished.  Ava seems to like it!  She was very proud of herself when she realized what she could do with it.

Check out my little genius!
I think she was trying to make 'fun' on the wall ;)

Picnic at the Park

enjoying her lunch
Ava had her first picnic lunch on Saturday.  We brought her to Davis Park.  It has a great playground for little ones and lots of space to run around.  Ava absolutely loved it!  She even sat down on the blanket while she ate her lunch.  Casey and I were surprised that she sat as long as she did.  There was a soccer tournament going on so there were kids everywhere!  She enjoyed watching them and made sure to wave at everyone as they walked by.

She loves the slides!

She had to stop for a little snack.

Fun on the swings

15 Months!

Our baby girl is 15 months old today (it's also her mom and dad's 5th anniversary)!  I can't believe how much she's changed since her 1st birthday.  I caught a picture of her while she was dancing this afternoon.  It's one of her favorite things to do.  Isn't she cute?!  I just love that face :)

Little bity ballerina :)

She needed a little downtime with Dora.  Dancing is hard work!

Father's Day 2011

Ava has a pretty terrific Daddy!  To celebrate Father's Day we had a BBQ Saturday.  Ava gave Casey some of his gifts early.  She picked out a bunch of lawn games that they could play together (KanJam, BagO, Bocce and Ladder Golf).  On Sunday, we went out to breakfast and then had a great day hanging out at home.  Happy Father's Day, Daddy!  We love you :)

Trying to Beat the Heat

We've had some pretty hot days in Rochester.  Ava got a water table for her 1st birthday and she and Mason love to play with it (Mason mostly just drinks the water).
